Helen McCarthy

Helen McCarthy is a doctoral candidate at Middlesex University whose research interests include integration, labour market and multiple citizenship. Her doctoral project examines recent migration from Spain to the UK and the impact of ‘Brexit’ on the experiences of European citizens. She previously completed a Master’s degree in Global Migration at the University College London (UCL) and Masters in Social Anthropology in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. She is a trustee of a charity working with Latin American migrants in London.  

Helen has previously worked on research projects at the Centre on Migration, Policy, and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford and for the Migration Policy Institute Europe. Prior to that, she worked in the Integration and Faith team in the Department for Communities and Local Government in London and at Amnesty International in Brussels.
