Josep Espluga

PhD in sociology (2001), Associate professor at the Department of Sociology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He is member of the research groups on ‘Public Policies Analysis, Management and Assessment’ (AGAPP), Globalization, Education and Social Policies (GEPS) and Agriculture, Livestock and Food under Globalization (ARAG), all them at the UAB.
He currently teaches on sociology of health, occupational health and environmental sociology, and coordinates the Minor in Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship of the UAB. He is also the Director of the Postgraduate Course in Local Agroecological Dynamization of the UAB.
His research interests are focused on the relationships between health, work, environment and territory, with particular attention to the social perception of risks, environmental conflicts and participatory methods.
