Dr. Marchant is currently an academic at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Social Work and develops research in the area of educational evaluation and higher education training. In the area of educational evaluation she has studied the differences in problem solving of first-year undergraduate students in contrasting areas (engineering and humanities), analyzing the expressed gestures, the cognitive strategies used and differences in learning of mathematics during school life. In the field of social sciences, at the higher education level, she has investigated curriculum monitoring in social work, the practice of professor evaluation, the teaching of ethics across the curriculum, and individual differences in learning and assessment.
