deSignis. Revista de la Federación Latinoamericana de Semiótica (FELS)

deSignis is an international Semiotics journal whose aim is to publish, in Spanish and Portuguese, articles devoted to the study of meaning-making in Latin American societies from an interdisciplinary and multicultural perspective. The purpose of deSignis, a journal of the Latin American Federation of Semiotics, is to study the processes of meaning production in contemporary Latin American societies, enabling interdisciplinary dialogue and a cohabitation of viewpoints between researchers in the region and the international scientific community. Semiotic practice—what Roland Barthes referred to as a “reading”—fits into the growing demand for semioticians in fields as diverse as communication, advertising, fashion, politics, the media, public or private space, architecture and urban design, market research, and new technologies—areas in which semiotic methodology has developed as a descriptive and interpretive form of analysis.
