El juego musical infantil: indicios de un vacío en la literatura académica

El juego es un elemento clave para el desarrollo humano especialmente en la etapa infantil por lo que es necesario que ocupe un lugar destacado también en la educación formal. El presente estudio viene motivado por la necesidad de construir un marco teórico de referencia destinado a maestros desde el área de música. Por ello, el objetivo de esta investigación es conocer la producción científica acerca del juego musical en la etapa infantil del período 2006 – 2014 usando la base de datos ERIC y la plataforma Google Scholar. La búsqueda se realiza a partir de tres ejes -la música, el juego, y la primera infancia- usando palabras clave en inglés. De las 42 publicaciones encontradas, sólo 24 reúnen los criterios de búsqueda. Los resultados de esta revisión bibliográfica se muestran agrupados en cuatro familias temáticas: Intervenciones educativas y aspectos curriculares; La dimensión cultural del juego; Juego tecnológico y La música como medio. Este trabajo, a la vez que visibiliza los diferentes temas dentro de este campo de estudio, pone de manifiesto la escasez de producción científica entorno a un tema tan importante para el desarrollo de la etapa infantil como lo es el juego musical.

Play is a key part of human development, especially in the infant stage, so it should also occupy a prominent place in formal education.
This study is motivated by the need to build a theoretical reference framework for teachers from the standpoint of music. Therefore,
the goal of this research was to identify the scientific literature dealing with the field of musical play in early childhood, during the
2006 – 2014 period and using the ERIC database and the Google Scholar platform. The search was based on three main descriptors –
music, play, and early childhood – using English keywords. Out of the 42 publications located, only 24 met the search criteria. The
results of this review of the literature are divided into four thematic areas: Educational interventions and curriculum, Cultural
dimension of play, Technological games and Music as a medium. This paper, while drawing attention to the different topics within
this field of study, highlights the scarcity of scientific literature focused on a resource as important as musical play for early childhood
development.
