Nos próximos 4 e 5 de maio de 2017 terá lugar lugar a palestra intitulada Sicily al-Andalus and the Maghreb: Writing in Times of Turmoil, na Sala de Graus da Faculdade de Letras da UAB.
Esta palestra, organizada pelo investigador Nicola Carpentieri e pelo Departamento de Ciências da Antiguidade e da Idade Média, contará com a presença dos seguintes investigadores da Universidade de Lisboa, entre muitos outros: o Dr. Gonçalo Matos-Ramos, com a palestra Comparing Mindsets: Analyzing late-15th century Christian and Muslim Sources regarding Portuguese Presence in the Maghreb; e a Dra. Inês Lourinho, com The Mediterranean against Sicily: the schism between Innocent II and Anacletus II and the recognition of Roger II as a king.
