
Eriikka Oinonen, Title of Docent (adjunct professor), Doc.Soc.Sc. is University Lecturer of Sociology and the Head of the Unit of Social Research, in the Faculty of Social Sciences (SOC) at the Tampere University (TAU). She is also a vise-coordinator of the Social Science Unit of Pori at the University Consortium of Pori. She plays a central role in the management of the Faculty of Social Sciences and leads one of the biggest discipline units with ca. 200 researchers and teachers at the Tampere University. Her research has focused on comparative research methods, creative or arts-based research methods, family institution, youth transitions, sociology of everyday life and policy document (education, family) analysis. Her recent project Coming of Age in the times of COVID-19 studied pandemic as a potential generational experience that has immediate and long-term impacts in lives of contemporary young adults. The aim is to provide authentic information about young adults’ experiences, their coping strategies and plans and expectation for the future in times of uncertainty. Her current research interest is to study long term impacts of sever societal crisis such as deep economic recession, COVID-19, environmental crisis on individuals’ everyday lives and views of future
