
Degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Granada (1994-1999), PhD from the UPO (2016) and lecturer at the same University since the academic year 2006-2007. Since 2015, I am the president of the Practical Sociological Research Committee at the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES). I am a member of the Advisory Board of the Doctoral School of the FES. In 2018 I was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM.
In Scopus, Dialnet and Google Scholar, I appear in the top 10 of published articles on popularisation and sociology. The one with the highest impact is La divulgación de la sociología como contribución social, published in the unpublished debate I coordinated in 2019 in the Revista Española de Sociología. I have published more than 80 opinion articles in different newspapers and media. I have directed and participated in 30 dissemination videos in the field of sociology. I lead the RadiOlavide programme Sociología para el día a día. From academia to everyday practice.
From late 2004 to mid-2012, I worked in the Cabinet of the Regional Ministry for Equality and Social Welfare and in the Office of the Government Spokesperson of the Andalusian Regional Government. From April 2002 to August 2004 I was a research technician at the Institute for Advanced Social Studies of the CSIC. In different periods I worked as a freelance for the Instituto de España, CIMOP Comunicación y Opinión Pública, Grupo ASM de Análisis y Servicios de Marketing and Contrapunto Advertising Agency.
