Josué Gutiérrez Barroso. Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of La Laguna. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a PhD in Sociology from the University of La Laguna. Additionally, he completed postgraduate studies at the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), which is part of the Ministry of the Presidency of the Government of Spain. He also has training in Big Data from the Open University of Catalonia.
Also he has served as the principal researcher in regional and municipal projects on youth, equality, and public health. Currently, he is a researcher in international projects related to the impacts of climate change on society and social inequality. Furthermore, he has published papers in national and international journals and has presented many communications at national and international conferences.
His main research areas include the evaluation of public policies, youth, education, and the digital society. He holds accreditation from the National Quality Agency, recognizing his research excellence. He is a member of the research groups Digital Society and Public Management (SODIGEP) and the Research Group on Diversity, Health, and Education (DISAE).
He is currently the Dean of the Official Association of Political Science and Sociology of the Canary Islands, its representative on the Canary Islands Social Services Observatory, and the Vice-Director of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of La Laguna.
