
Francisco Santana Armas is Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of La Laguna. His research and teaching career at the University of La Laguna began in 2001. He is currently a member of the research group Sociology and Politics of Education at the same university. Her research interests are mainly focused on the school experiences of secondary school students, linked to educational inequalities and school trajectories, as well as educational policies and their discourses.
She is currently a member of the research team of the project “Culture of youth romance and educational trajectories in compulsory secondary education” (ROMANCE SUCCESP), with the support and funding of the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2023. In addition, she also participated in the first INCASI, highlighting her stay at the Gino Germani Institute of the University of Buenos Aires.

He has been evaluator of several journals, alternate representative of the University of La Laguna in the School Council of the Canary Islands and member of the organizing committee of several national and international conferences on School Experiences and Social Inequality.
