Julie Jarty
Senior Lecturer. In 2010, I completed a European PhD at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and at the University of Toulouse-Le Mirail (France) on gender inequalities in French and Spanish secondary school teachers. During my PhD, I participated in a QUING Integrated Project (Quality in Gender Equality Policies Quality in Gender Equality Policies) funded by the European Union through the 6th Framework Program of the European Commission (period 2006-2011) together with the team of the University of Nijmegen (Netherlands). Afterwards, I was an assistant professor at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) where I taught gender studies. As a member of the Center for Gender Studies (CEG-LIEGE), I supervised a research on gender trajectories in French Education and participated in the organization of the 6th international conference on Francophone feminist research in Lausanne. Since 2012, I am a full professor of sociology at the University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, member of the SAGESSE gender research group at CERTOP, CNRS Joint Research Unit. I am co-director of the GEPS Master (Gender, Equality and Social Policies) and the coordinator of the European Master in Equality and Gender Studies (EGALES). My main research topics are the analysis of the effects of social policies on gender relations in relation to other inequalities, from a comparative perspective; of social actions against gender inequalities and issues in various sectors of activity (especially in the education and early childhood sector); of the role and modes of action of feminist actors in the process of social change in contemporary European societies.
