My name is Jesús Rodríguez. For the past three years, I have been working as a sociology professor at Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) in Seville. I hold degrees in Sociology and Political Science, a master’s in “Human Rights, Interculturality, and Development,” and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the same university. Additionally, I lead a research line at the Laboratory of Political Ideas and Practices (LIPPO) at UPO. Over the years, my research has focused on the intersection between social inequality (from a class perspective) and citizenship (particularly human rights). Most of my publications and contributions to national and international academic events revolve around these themes. Closely related to this, I have also explored urban sociology from the perspective of the right to the city. My academic profile is interdisciplinary yet coherent and cohesive: all my work reflects an interest in analyzing the legal manifestations of class inequalities, examined through the lens of political economy critique. Among my publications, I would highlight my latest book, “Cuestión de clase” (Bellaterra, 2023), which systematically compiles various contributions I have made to the field. Regarding journal articles and book chapters, I have collaborated with publications such as Cuadernos de Relaciones Laborales (where I had the opportunity to co-edit one of its recent issues), Revista Internacional de Pensamiento Político, Dykinson, and UPV, among others. Beyond my work at UPO, I have taught at other institutions, including the University of Cádiz and the University School of Osuna, always within the field of sociology.
