Álex Pérez Sánchez was born in Rubí in 1999. He is currently a PhD student at MolBioMed. He studied Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona during the years 2017-2021 and, subsequently, the Erasmus Mundus Master in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling during the years 2021-2023, at the University of Barcelona. Durant els estudis de grau va poder estar durant 6 mesos a la Uppsala Universitet d’Erasmus, i durant el segon any de màster ha pogut fer estades a la Università degli Studi di Perugia i la Università degli studi di Trieste.

He is currently working on his doctoral thesis entitled: “Design through biomolecular simulations of drugs for inflammatory-based diseases”. His research focuses on the study of cyclooxygenases, a type of enzyme involved in the inflammatory response, and inflammation receptors.
