Sibhil·la, a Project hosted by the Library Service, has been giving support to research activities in the field of history and humanities since 1987.
Our main goal is the production of Fons d’Història Local de Catalunya a data base (230.000 references ) that collects bibliographical references on the disciplines of history, humanities and social sciences of Catalonia and covers a variety of subjects: politics, society, geography, economy, religion, culture, art, education.
The catalog, with a detailed content description following the Tesaurus d’Història Local de Catalunya contains references of books and unpublished manuscripts, local journals, journal articles, theses and dissertations located in libraries, repositories and information centres of Catalonia.

1987 – Grup d’Història Local de Catalunya an initiative of a group of professors of the Department of Modern and Early Modern History
1995 – SDHLC (Servei de Documentació d’Història Local de Catalunya) is created as a Laboratory Service (S3) under the direction of Dr. Borja de Riquer

Scientific and technical service (SCT) Sibhilla (2012-2019)
The Scientifc and Technical Service (SCT) SIBHIL·LA was created in 2012 as a result of the merger of two projects, with similar background and objectives, that were created in 1987 as a response to the research needs of professors and research groups in Modern History and Catalan Studies
- The SDHLC (Servei de Documentació d’Història Local de Catalunya) a Laboratory of Services of the Department of Modern and Early Modern History
- TRACES: A Bibliographical data base on Catalan language and literature by the Grup d’Estudis de Literatura Catalana Contemporània (GELCC) of the Department of Catalan Studies
In 2014 a new project joined Sibhil·la
- IfMuc Catalan Musical Sources Catalogue by the Chair of Musical Heritage in the Department of Art and Musicology
