“During my research stay, the CEO‑UAB was the leading research centre in the field of Olympism. In short: a significant boost to my professional development.”

Juan Antonio Simon Sanjurjo, investigador postdoctoral (2012-13)

Learn more about our research stays programme

The CEO‑UAB offers a visiting programme that supports academics and postgraduate students wishing to visit the centre for a limited period, either to study or to conduct research on topics related to the centre’s specific research areas.

Boost your research with us

The CEO‑UAB welcomes applications from academics wishing to join this programme to undertake a research stay at the centre, participate in ongoing projects, and carry out their own research.

Visiting researchers will be assigned a “sponsor” within the centre, typically a member interested in their project, who will serve as their main point of contact. Researchers will have full access to academic resources, computer facilities, and office space if required. Applicants are expected to provide their own financial support (salary and travel expenses).

During their stay, visitors are expected to attend outreach and dissemination activities organised by the centre and, although short absences may occur due to conferences or other commitments, the CEO‑UAB should remain their primary focus throughout the visit.

Programme modalities

  • Visiting academics Academics from other universities undertaking a stay of between one and fourteen weeks will be granted visiting academic status. La estancia puede estar financiada a través de becas o ayudas, o con recursos propios.
  • Visiting students Students who are not enrolled at the UAB and who are working towards a doctoral degree or a master’s thesis and wish to undertake a stay at the CEO‑UAB will be granted visiting student status. The stay may be funded through scholarships or grants, or through personal resources.
  • Visiting researchers Academics undertaking a stay of more than fourteen weeks funded through external scholarships or grants will be considered visiting researchers.

Applications

Applications to join the CEO‑UAB Visiting Programme must include:

  • A completed visiting application form
  • An Academic curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A research proposal
  • References from the applicant’s supervisor
  • Proof of the scholarship or grant awarded

Applications will be evaluated by the Visiting Programme Committee. Applicants will be notified of the outcome shortly after all required documentation has been submitted.

If necessary, applicants may request a letter of acceptance from the CEO‑UAB for funding purposes. This acceptance, prior to the awarding of funding, does not constitute an obligation on the part of the centre to host the applicant should the funding not be granted.
