EVIDENCE-INFORMED EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE
Coordinator: Georgeta Ion
In this line of research we understand that an Educational Practice Informed by Evidence (PEIE) consists of the use of evidence by teachers, educational leaders and organizations to make decisions and improve aspects of their teaching, leadership and professional development and organizational. We understand “evidence” as the integration of knowledge that comes from different sources such as educational research, data derived from systematic evaluations and professional experience, collected through systematic and rigorous processes and through a multiplicity of methodologies and approaches.
Specifically, in this line of research we focus on addressing the following questions:
- how to encourage educational organizations to make effective use of scientific evidence to improve their processes;
- What are the personal/professional and organizational conditions that favor the commitment of educational agents to evidence?
- how to develop the capacity of the agents involved and educational organizations to make effective use of evidence for educational improvement.
