
D. in Sociology and a degree in Political Science and Sociology and Social Work. She is Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of La Laguna and member of the University Institute of Women’s Studies. She has been a member of the ULL research groups “Sociology of Work” and “Gender, citizenship and cultures. Approaches from the feminist theory”. She is currently director of the research group “Sexual Violence” VIOSEX and member of the working group “Critical Pedagogy” (PEDACRI). She has been director of a Health and Women’s Service and Coordinator of Social Services in the Community of Madrid, sociologist at the Canary Islands Women’s Institute of the Government of the Canary Islands and Secondary School teacher at the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands. She has been secretary of the journal Clepsidra and is currently a member of the Permanent Commission of the IUEM (University Institute of Women’s Studies). She is a founding member of the RAIEPP (International Academic Network for the Study of Pornography and Prostitution), member of the Chair of Globalization, Migrations and New Citizenships of the ULL and of the FORUM of feminist politics in Spain. Expert in the study of sexual violence, feminist theory, forced migrations and human rights. She has participated as a researcher in several international and national projects such as “Challenges from Innovation and Transfer in equality policies: University-Society Networks between the Canary Islands and Africa”, “Populations and merchandise: trafficking and trafficking of women in Spain”, Justice, citizenship and vulnerability. Narratives of precariousness and intersectional approaches, Justice, citizenship and gender: feminization of migrations and human rights, INCASI.
