
Abraham García-González holds a degree in Social Work and another one in Sociology from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO, 2020). He has completed the Master in Social Problems at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, 2021) and is currently a PhD student contracted FPU by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities at the Centre d’Estudis Sociològics sobre la Vida Quotidiana i el Treball (QUIT) of the Institut d’Estudis del Treball (IET), at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), under the direction of Dr. Pedro López Roldán and Dr. Sandra Fachelli. In his career he has worked in both Social Work and Sociology research groups, in the implementation of the first Laboratory of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the UPO (FCSLAB), as well as in the first and second experience of the INCASI network. In addition, he was awarded the prize for the best academic performance of his promotion in both undergraduate and Master’s degrees, together with the prize for Best National Graduate in Sociology 2020, issued by the Spanish Society for Academic Excellence (SEDEA). He has also completed pre-doctoral research stays at Nuffield College (University of Oxford, UK) and the Centre for Research on Social Inequalities (Sciences Po Paris, France). His research interests are diverse, ranging from the sociology of health to the sociology of work and labour economics. Currently, his doctoral thesis work is focused on intragenerational and intergenerational socio-labour mobility and how these affect population health.
