
PhD in Sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) in Sociology from the UAB, and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the UAB.
Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and researcher at the Centre for Sociological Studies on Everyday Life and Work (QUIT) – Institute for Labour Studies (IET) of the same university. It is at this centre and university that he has carried out most of his work. However, he has also held teaching positions at the University of Girona (UdG) and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). For four years, he was a pre-doctoral researcher at the Centre Maurice Halbwachs (École Normale Supérieure-Paris Sciences et Lettres / EHESS / CNRS) in Paris, and for two years, a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Furthermore, he has been a visiting researcher at various research centres, including the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (University of California, Berkeley), and the Work and Equalities Institute (University of Manchester).
His research has focused on the fields of the sociology of labour (domination and resistance in labour relations, work trajectories and social capital), research methods (ethnographic approaches, mixed methods and network analysis), social movements (trade unionism and housing rights movements), and academic translation.
