The pedagogical dossier is one of the results of a series of workshops for secondary school students (aged 12 to 18) organised by the Democratic Memorial (MEMO) with materials from the Democratic Memorial’s Witness Archive, documents from the National Archive of Catalonia and the Archive of the Republican Pavilion of the University of Barcelona.
In close collaboration with the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, MEMO coordinated a working group of secondary school teachers interested in democratic memory – DEMD groups – to work on different themes of democratic memory. There is a wide territorial representation in Catalonia (Lleida, Alt Empordà, Tarragona, Barcelona/Valles, Ebre).
The participants of the workshops prepared a glossary of terms and co-created content on women’s resistance from the BAT (Audiovisual Bank of Testimonies) of the Democratic Memorial. They also selected the content for the stage design of the upcoming theatre play (as a script, as an audio resource, as a flyer to be distributed). All these materials will be collected in the permanent online exhibition.
