In October 2025, within the framework of postdoctoral research stays, professors María Celeste Gómez and Cecilia Jiménez, and professor Facundo Quiroga actively participated in various scientific events.
Prof. Cecilia Jiménez participated in the XI Congreso de Migraciones 2025, organized by the RETYDES Research Group (Territorial Restructuring and Social Inequalities) of the Sociology Department at the University of Murcia, held in Murcia (Spain), from October 15 to 17, 2025.
She presented an individual paper titled “What can Sayad contribute to the study of Argentine migrations? Notes to reconstruct the class-migrations conceptual alliance” and another paper co-authored with Daniela Herrera Rubalcaba titled “Capitals in motion: inequalities and strategies of (im)mobility of Argentine migration to Spain”.
At this event, she also coordinated a symposium with another colleague, Jordi Moreras Palenzuela, titled “After Sayad. Reception of his work in the Hispanic American context”.


She also participated in the IV Conversatorio sobre Migraciones Internacionales at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Almería (UAL), on October 14. The event was organized by the Center for the Study of Migrations and Intercultural Relations (CEMyRI) and the European Documentation Center of the UAL. The central presentation was given by Prof. Jiménez and delved into the multicausality that characterizes these processes, going beyond simplistic economic explanations to explore a web of social, political, and personal factors.
And more recently, she participated in the Ciclo Pioneras at the University of Murcia.


Prof. María Celeste Gómez participated in the 29th Forum for Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies “Gendering Macroeconomics”, organized by the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) of the Hans-Böckler-Foundation and held in Berlin on October 23, 24, and 25, 2025.
She presented the paper titled “Gender inequality and productive heterogeneity in Argentina. Thirty years of gender gaps in the labour market” in session E1: Gender pay gap.
Prof. Facundo Quiroga conducted his stay at the University of La Laguna during September and October 2025. During this time, he delivered the capstone class titled “The university as a complex organization” for students in the Sociology of Organizations course. He also participated in a research seminar organized by the SAPTEN Group with the presentation titled “Projects in dialogue: perspectives and collaborations in SAPTEN”, aimed at describing ongoing research lines and potential collaboration opportunities between UNC teams and ULL groups.
