Ioana Cornea has a BA in Applied Modern Languages from Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj Napoca, Romania, and a PhD in Specialized Translation Studies from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. She served as Teaching Assistant at Pompeu Fabra University, where she taught Basic Principles of Law and Economics for Translators, Translation Studies and Resources for Translators.

She is currently a full-time professor at the Department of Translation and Interpreting of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where she teaches several specialized translation courses as well as terminology applied to translation, and resources for translators and interpreters. She coordinates the university’s online Certificate in Legal Translation.

Her interests include legal translation, tools for translators and interpreters, lexicography and terminology for translators, and court interpreting.
