Prize for Research on the Business Model for The Local Press

 

Carmina Crusafon, deputy director of the IOC, has won the first Prize for Research in business models for local press, worth 6,000 Euros. The Association of Information and Communication Media in collaboration with the Vives University Network promotes this prize.

The winning project is “Business models for Local Press: 10 keys for a more efficient formula from the analysis of digital and international innovation”. The research will analyze the most significant market cases in the US, UK, and France, to identify success stories and best practices.

The award aims to find new business models that help editors to face the future of the local press; improving their critical capacity and creativity and strengthening the publishing projects, with innovative and practical tools.

Manuel Campos, director of information management at Banco Sabadell (award sponsor); Antonio M. Piqué, journalist, consultant and professor at the University Pompeu Fabra; and Andreu Casero, professor at the Universitat Jaume I, were the members of the jury.
